Government Legislation from May 2021 requires all bulk firewood now has to meet the moisture maximum of 20% which ensures the resulting emissions meet the limits set by the new Act. It requires most firewood to be Kiln Dried resulting in the price increase because it is ready for immediate use. Kiln Dried wood releases more heat and so the customer will get close to the same value for money provided the air flow in the stove is reduced to slow down the rate of burning.
